Abstract Expressionist Quilt

This 2 day workshop is designed for those with  sewing skills in traditional quilting techniques, such as  conventional piecing and appliqué .. The workshop will introduce  an alternate approach to traditional quilting: Creating quilts   as  expressionist  paintings. The design of the quilt will emerge  from a process of random colour dispersion and the application of old and new techniques and embellishments.. Each quilt will be unique and distinctly represent the artist. For some,  this may sound a little intimidating ;. However ,many participants who initially focused on butterflies , bunnies and  simple geometric shapes  have embraced abstract expressionists after trying  this technique. - Complete instructions for preparation will be provided. 

Instructor will also bring embellishment materials.
